(PPEP) and Fundación Infantil
This binational collaborative project initiated micro
enterprise development programs for the communities
of San Luis Rio Colorado, Nogales and Agua Prieta, Sonora,
Mexico, linking them to U.S. based micro enterprise
programs across the border in San Luis, Nogales, and
Douglas, Arizona. A series of three technical and mentoring
workshops were conducted on the Mexican side of the
border providing technology on how to establish and
support micro enterprise development projects. PPEP
also provided ongoing mentoring, training and technical
assistance activities across the border, opened avenues
of credit access for border region micro business development,
and provided opportunities to selected low-income families
to sell their products using the internet.
