ECOSTART is a binational collaborative exchange program
to empower Sonoran elementary school teachers to develop
an environmental education curriculum designed to address
the community and school needs for knowledge of ecosystem
principles. In addition, the program enabled Sonoran
and Arizona elementary school teachers to share environmental
information and student projects regarding the Upper
San Pedro (southeastern Arizona and northeast Sonora)
riparian area in which they live and teach through exchange
visits.
