This year's Conference will mainly focus on the political, economic, educational, and social aspects of the North American region at the current time.
The working sessions will feature topics in areas such as:
- North American integration in higher education programs
- The impact of international higher education development on students
- The environment and sustainable development
- Modernized technology and health issues
- Globalizing economies
- Current political and financial crisis
- Postgrads: tools for professional success
- Post-crisis recovery
Additional highlights will include:
- SONA information session: will focus on the organization’s current status; its vision, projects, community engagement, and its impact in the North American community.
- UN Model-type workshop: students will discuss current North American issues and create solutions by engaging in a debate following the methodology of the United Nations Model.
- Study Abroad Workshop: will address any questions about studying in a foreign country (legal and academic requirements, cultural shock, etc)
- Poster Exhibit: will exhibit student projects throughout the conference days.

- Monday, February 1, 2009 - Deadline for submission of presentation and project proposals
- Friday, February 5, 2010 - Early Bird registration ends
- Friday, March 5, 2010 - Regular registration ends
- Tuesday, March 30, 2010 - Last day to make hotel reservations at the Marriott with special rate
- Tuesday, April 6, 2010 - Last day to make hotel reservations at the Holiday Inn with special rate
