-Call for Proposals-
Following our tenth year of building a sustainable trilateral student organization, student leaders -- graduate and undergraduate -- will assemble to continue student-led cooperation across national boundaries between Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. The conference will offer the following suggested topics:
I. Internationalization in Higher Education
- North American integration in higher education programs
- The impact of international higher education development on students
II. Health, Technology, and the Environment
- The environment and sustainable development
- Modernized technology and health issues
III. Economic and Political Issues
- Globalizing economies
- Current political and financial crisis: looking for ways to recover from it
IV. Culture, Labor, and Societies
- School is over, what next? : tools for professional success
- Preparing current students to adapt to an international and multi-cultural labor market
General Information for Proposal Submission
Eligibility to submit proposals:
All who are, or who have a message for, undergraduate and graduate students from Canada, the United States and Mexico are eligible to submit a proposal. These presenters however, must have some degree of experience on the subject selected.
COMPENSATION: Regretfully, presenters will not receive any compensation. Travel, lodging and conference registration fees will be the presenter's responsibility.
Guidelines:
Proposals should include sufficient information to help reviewers determine the content and nature of the proposed session. To ease our selection process, we suggest that proposals be in outline format, including a title, main headings, subheading(s), and sub-subheadings.

LENGTH: Maximum length of proposals for all types of sessions is three (3) double-spaced pages
FORMAT: Conference, panel, workshop, etc.
SUBMISSION: Papers must be sent by email to nasf@email.arizona.edu
LANGUAGE: Proposals may be submitted in either French, English, or Spanish
DEADLINE: for submission is February 1 , 2009.
General Selection Criteria:
a) Relevance of the proposal to the SONA Mission.
b) Relevance of the proposal to the SONA 2010 theme.
c) Overall clarity of the proposal for a cross-cultural audience.
d) Interest level the proposal would generate among SONA participants.
Notification:
Those who submit proposals before the deadline will be notified by the last weeks of February 2009, regarding the decision about their proposal.
General Information for Project Submission
Research Projects Exhibit. Students from all over North America will have the opportunity to showcase a research project of their own for the duration of the conference. We encourage our SONA participants to submit their project in order to gain experience and feedback from fellow students and higher education personalities.
