General Information for Proposal Submission

Eligibility to submit proposals:

All who are, or who have a message for, undergraduate and graduate students from Canada, the United States and Mexico are eligible to submit a proposal. These presenters however, must have some degree of experience on the subject selected.

COMPENSATION: Regretfully, presenters will not receive any compensation. Travel, lodging and conference registration fees will be the presenter's responsibility.

Guidelines:

Proposals should include sufficient information to help reviewers determine the content and nature of the proposed session. To ease our selection process, we suggest that proposals be in outline format, including a title, main headings, subheading(s), and sub-subheadings.

  • Maximum length of proposals for all types of sessions is three (3) double-spaced pages.
  • Names of authors or participants should not appear within the proposal text to ensure anonymous review.
  • Submissions must be submitted to SONA.
  • Proposals may be submitted in French, English, or Spanish.

Deadline for submission is February 20, 2007.

General Selection Criteria:

a) Relevance of the proposal to the SONA Mission.

b) Relevance of the proposal to the SONA 2007 theme.

c) Overall clarity of the proposal for a cross-cultural audience.

d) Interest level the proposal would generate among SONA members.

Notification:

Those who submit proposals before the deadline will be notified by the first two weeks of February 2007, regarding the decision about their proposal.
