Description:

Important progresses associated to the development of the fifth edition of the Conference of the Americas on International Education, CAIE Canada-2017, have been made in relation to the major theme and the venue of the event.

The Steering Committee of the CAIE voted unanimously in favor of the following theme: Generating Tomorrow’s Leaders & Innovators: The Internationalization of Graduate Studies and Research, according to the latest trends and priorities, as well as the current needs of the higher education and its internationalization.

The event will be held from October 11th to 13th, 2017, in the Palais des congrès de Montréal, the main convention center in the hosting city. Located in the heart of the financial district, the venue of the CAIE Canada-2017 has direct access to the hotels that are mostly frequented by business travelers and offers a wide variety of mobility options.

Thus, the Steering Committee, under the direction of the Executive Director of the CAIE, Dr. David Julien, who also serves as the Executive Director of the Inter-American Organization For Higher Education (IOHE), Canada, is formed by the representatives of the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE-BCEI), Canada; the Consortium for Northern American Higher Education Collaboration (CONAHEC), United States; the Consortium of the five main universities in Montreal: Concordia UniversityÉcole de technologie supérieureMcGill University, Université de MontréalUniversité du Québec à Montréal; the Empresa Pública YACHAY E.P., Ecuador; the Asociación Mexicana para la Educación Internacional (AMPEI), Mexico; the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL), Mexico; and Global Affairs Canada, being the observer.

Those steps show that the CAIE is, above all, a constantly evolving space for exchange, thanks to its academic offerings, reflected in an excellency program in its previous four editions, as well as its traditional series of Webinars, networking platform, and constant communication with thousands of persons who are interested in the internationalization of higher education through its online resources.
