Airlines serving Guadalajara:

Guadalajara, the third largest city in Mexico, is easy to get to by airplane. The Aeropuerto Internacional “Miguel Hidalgo” (GDL), Guadalajara’s airport is served by several airlines: Air Canada, Delta, Continental, American Airlines, United, America West, Alaska, Mexicana and Aeroméxico. There are direct non-stop flights from Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Miami, among other cities.

Ground transportation:

Upon your arrival at the Guadalajara airport, purchase an official taxi ticket. (There is a booth just outside the airport.). Then go outside to the taxi line and give your ticket to the first waiting taxi. The cost of the ride to the hotel Fiesta American Gaudalajara is approximately $ 150.00 pesos or $15 US. The taxi booth will accept US dollars.

The bellhop at the hotel will help you arrange for your return trip to the airport. Taxis operate at all hours.

Mexico’s Immigration Requirements:

US and Canadian citizens must obtain a Tourist Card (FMT). The form will be distributed by the airline during your inbound flight. You will also need your passport to prove your citizenship. Be sure to save the copy of the Tourist Card that is returned to you after you pass immigration upon entry. You will need to present it when you leave Mexico.
