International Versus Transnational Education: Implications for the Global Community

The presenter will discuss the advantages and limitations of using new technologies as a tool for internationalizing higher education, with focus on efforts aimed towards the internationalization of the curriculum. She will highlight the important conceptual differences existent between international and transnational education, and will demonstrate that once these concepts are defined, the debate over the use of new information and communication technologies is purely conceptual and philosophical.

Join leaders and practitioners of higher education, business, government and students in Calgary, Canada for the VIII North American Higher Education Conference. Conference participants will work together to shape the collaborative agenda in North American higher education. We will review the outcomes of past efforts since "Wingspread", the first trinational education gathering in 1992. We will then develop strategies to meet the challenges we must overcome in the next decade.
