Sustopia: Utopian thinking and sustainable development
According to Walter Russell Mead: "utopia is a place where everything is good; dystopia, a place where everything is bad; and heterotopia, a place where everything is different." The word sustopia, tends to merge sustainability and utopia, as used by Susanna Elfors. This lecture discusses it through William Rathje's concept of social science of garbage, as a different way of utopian thinking, which seeks to combine teaching-learning processes of sustainability, protection and world-society conservation.
