Description:

The Education World Forum is the world’s largest gathering of education and skills ministers. Delegates representing over two-thirds of the world’s population gather in the UK in January each year to debate future education policy. The event comprises three days of insight and inspiration from pioneers, policy makers and experts, with many sessions given by education ministers themselves as part of an honest assessment of education’s common issues and challenges.

The forum is supported by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Department for Education, the Department for International Trade, the Department for International Development, the British Council and industry partners.

2019 Theme: What we should do with what we know: Developing education policy for implementation, impact and exponential success

Education data, and the knowledge that can be derived from it sometimes can seem abundant but seldom well used.

  • Improvement and growth
    • Exponential growth develops when growth increases regularly by a constant proportion; the type of effect that can happen when new developments and innovations build on each other.

How might education policy encourage using what we know to improve what we do, and doing that year on year, can we move towards exponential improvement and growth?

  • Exploration and collaborative progress

    • The Education World Forum 2019 will explore these and associated ideas in the pursuit of improved education opportunity across the world.
