History:

The University of Guadalajara (Universidad de Guadalajara) is a public university located in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. It is considered the 2nd most important University in Mexico while being ranked the 1st among public state universities in Mexico considering quality and price.

The University of Guadalajara consists of 15 campuses in Jalisco. Jalisco is amongst the top 5 states with most capacity for scientific and technological innovation. Besides those academic qualities, Jalisco is enriched through the diversity that the University of Guadalajara offers.

UDG offers various programs and centers for our students. Currently, 113,992 undergraduate students benefit from over 260 undergraduate courses. While 6,306 graduate students are offered 241 post graduate programs. In total, 10,183 faculty members are able to support our students.

The University Centre for Arts, Architecture and Design (CUAAD), University Centre for Biological and Agricultural Sciences (CUCBA), University Centre for Economic and Management Sciences (CUCEA), University Centre for Exact Sciences and Engineering (CUCEI), University Centre for Health Sciences (CUCS), and the University Centre for Social Sciences and Humanities (CUCSH) are just some of the program centers we offer.

To expand our internationalization, we also collaborate around the world. Our collaboration includes Europe, Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Oceania. UDG is ranked 1st in Mexico with highest number of internationally certified undergraduate programs (108). Therefore, there is a beneficial international exchange. Students hosted by UDG come from all over the world. This diversity enriches our cultural and ethnic environment and improves the international profile of our community.

The University of Guadalajara is a fundamental institution for the formation of high quality human resources and the production of scientific and technological knowledge that support the development of Jalisco.
