WNMU is the premier teaching university in New Mexico. As a student-centered institution, they prepare, with rigor and compassion, diverse learners who achieve career success, civic literacy, and social responsibility. Valuing the traditional academy and taking pride in their history and regional cultural heritages, they embrace innovation and transformation for a sustainable future in an ever-changing world of local and global connections.

The University currently serves close to 4,000 students who are pursuing undergraduate, graduate, specialist, and certificate degrees in the arts, sciences and professions. The student-faculty ratio is 15:1, and the school has 67.1 percent of its classes with fewer than 20 students which makes us more flexible to customize instruction and services for our students. WNMU majors include: Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services; Health Professions and Related Programs; Parks, Recreation, Leisure, and Fitness Studies; Education; and Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities.
