ON begins process of creating province's first French-Language university

"Ontario has announced that it plans to create the province's first French-language university to be governed by and for Francophones. In consultation with the francophone community, the province's French-language University Planning Board has provided recommendations for the creation of a French-language university in Central and Southwestern Ontario. After viewing the recommendations, ON will introduce legislation for the creation of the proposed university in the coming months. The current recommendations reportedly propose that the new university be located in Toronto, but Nickel Belt MPP France Gelinas says that this would be a mistake, due to the school's distance from Francophone clusters like Hearst, Timmins, and Sudbury."
