CONAHEC's Mobility Incubator Program is a new initiative which seeks to deepen interinstitutional relationships between our members and their international partners to through increased high-quality area specific interaction.  The Incubator's goal is to produce opportunities for jointly administered projects, research, service learning and internships which have a mobility component for students, faculty, and/or administrators.  A key rationale for the creation of the program is the acute need to increase intra-regional mobility within North America, where mobility statistics indicate relatively low interaction levels.  The Consortium for North American Higher Education Collaboration (CONAHEC) held its first very successful “Mission to Guadalajara”, hosted from January 22-24, 2015 by the Jalisco Consortium for Higher Education Cooperation and Internationalization and the Secretary of Innovation, Science and Technology of the State of Jalisco as part of the CONAHEC Mobility Incubator Program.  28 colleagues from 19 different universities in the United States and Canada learned about Jalisco, Mexico, its culture and higher education system.

This mission to Puebla was the second activity supported by CONAHEC's Mobility Incubator Program.  The Very Interested in Puebla (VIP) Program 2015 is an initiative of seven of Puebla's best higher education institutions as well as the governments of the City and State of Puebla and with the support of the US Embassy in Mexico, all of whom hosted a group of more than 30 administrators representing more than 20 universities in the U.S. During the visit, participants had the opportunity to meet key administrators from Pueblan institutions, learn about Puebla's International Summer Academic Program and network with people associated with collaborating with these excellent Mexican partners.
