The 100,000 Strong in the Americas Innovation Fund is pleased to announce the opening of the 2019 U.S.-Mexico Innovation Fund Competition for Economic and Financial Inclusion and Agricultural Sustainability for Inequality Reduction to promote academic exchange and training opportunities. This competition is graciously supported by Fundación Banorte, Fundación Gruma, and the U.S. Department of State.

Ryerson has launched a five-year internationalization strategy to increase international student enrollment, create partnerships and expand on their research, according to Ryerson president Mohamed Lachemi.  

The strategy was officially launched on Oct. 31 at Ryerson’s Digital Media Zone (DMZ) Sandbox on the third floor of the Sheldon and Tracy Levy Learning Centre (SLC).  The strategy is organized with six priorities: innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship; global learning, research collaboration, projects and capacity building and international students.

In our recent article in University World News we argued that 'Internationalisation of Higher Education for Society' (IHES) should become a central part of university agendas over the next decade. 

We described IHES as the social responsibility component of internationalisation and argued that it “has, to date, rarely been the focus of systemic thinking, conceptualisation or strategy in the broad agenda of the internationalisation of higher education”.
