Flight & Bus Information:
Option 1 - Flying directly to Puebla's international airport Hermanos Serdán Aeropuerto Internacional de Puebla (airport code PBC)
Tuesday October 11 and Wednesday October 12, 2011, the Organizing Committee will have representatives stationed at this airport to greet arriving conference participants and to help them secure transportation to the conference hotel. Given that PBC is a relatively small airport there is only on international flight into the city of Puebla. From the United States there is 1 flight per day which departs from Houston, TX at 6:15 p.m. aboard United Airlines/Continental Airlines and arrives in Puebla, Mexico at 8:24 p.m. When flying to Puebla from other international locations, many flights, (including all Canadian flights that we have found), have as their final leg the flight mentioned above from Houston to Puebla. While this is an "easy" travel option, Option 2 below is usually less expensive and not much more difficult.
Option 2 - Fly to Mexico City's Benito Juarez International Airport (airport code MEX) then go on to Puebla by bus:
There are many international flights that can get you to (MEX). It is usually possible to find a flight that is significantly less expensive than those that will take you directly to Puebla's airport.
Once you arrive at (MEX), without exiting the airport terminal, there is a very good option which is to go over to the Estrella Roja bus terminal and take a bus (luxury motor coach style) from the airport directly to Estrella Roja's Terminal 4 Poniente (4 PTE) in Puebla. The Conference Organizing committee will have representatives present in the international terminal from the afternoon of Tuesday, October 11 until Thursday October 13, 2011 to assist arriving conference participants with finding their way to the bus terminal, buying bus tickets etc. The bus tickets cost $200 Mexican Pesos (approximately $17 United States Dollars) for a one-way. (Note that Estrella Roja is the only bus company that goes to the 4 PTE bus terminal. Estrella Roja as well as other bus companies offer service to the larger main Puebla bus terminal (CAPU) but CAPU is further from downtown and as such is much less convenient. It is strongly recommended to take Estrella Roja and get off the bus at Terminal 4 PONIENTE (4 PTE) upon arrival to Puebla.

01:00The buses are air conditioned, there is no additonal charge for WIFI Internet connections, a movie is offered aboard and you are given a drink of your choice and a snack bag which contains headphones for the movie or music.The bus takes 1.5 to 2 hours to get to Puebla depending on traffic. It is the preferred method of transportation of many frequent international travelers when going to Puebla and is recommended for the budget conscious.
Upon your arrival at Estrella Rojas 4 PTE Bus Terminal, you can take one of the company's taxis (there's a ticket booth right in the Terminal). The taxi from there to the conference hotel will cost you $81 Mexican Pesos (approximately $7 US dollars). Tipping for taxis is optional and is usually a $10 Mexican Pesos or so (less than one US Dollar).
